Ah, beloved April Fools day. The day you’ve been waiting for all year, the one day you can pull an epic prank on your parents without getting in any sort of trouble with them.
I’ve seen a lot of creative pranks in the past few April Fools days… and a few uncreative ones. Some of them are so lacking in originality that it actually annoys me. Today on various social media sites, I saw people posting “Oh, I have to move to a new house! APRIL FOOLS!” or, “Oh, I can’t be on social media anymore!” April Fools.
Yes, it can be fun to see a reaction from people when they’re scared, but there’s a point when you’re crossing the line. Not only is the “I have to move away” joke overused, but it’s just rude, in my opinion. If a friend sees (and actually falls for that absurdly overused “prank”) they would probably get really sad! And that’s when you’ve crossed the line. It’s just not okay to just make someone sad and worried about YOU, and then say, “HA PRANKED YOU!” That’s just mean spirited! It will probably backfire, and your “friend” will be super mad at you! And at that point, what is the point?
If you’re doing this, I get annoyed by it and for the benefit of both yourself and others around you, you should stop.

Oh I’m moving by the way…
APRIL FOOLS!
Like that? Well, that was just for fun and I wanted to see if it actually works. I’m curious

I agree on your blog post; you should not hurt someone’s feeling for no reason; and if you think the you do have a reason and it’s “April fools day.”

I don’t like people like this either. One of my best friends played a prank similar to that, and I got really sad.
